We'd like to let you know the 2026 prices for strawberries and some of the reasons why 😊

We completely understand ongoing frustrations and worries about the price of food and produce.
That said, we want to be transparent about how much work goes into our strawberry fields. These crops really are a year-round labor of love for us at Rulfs!
💪 Every fall, we have to cover the strawberry crop before winter so the plants won't die during the harsh cold of our long winters. This involves the hard work of spreading straw throughout acres and acres of plants, and then covering them with plastic.
💪 In the spring, everything gets uncovered, but there's always the chance of a late frost that can kill the plants. If the weather calls for a late frost, our guys will stay up all night driving heaters around the fields to keep them from freezing.
💪 We have water wheels and irrigation pumps that run around the clock from spring to late summer to keep the strawberry fields hydrated and healthy. If there's a drought, they run extra hard to cope.
💪 Strawberry plants have to be changed out every few years, too, so our crew will spend time working on that when needed.
